Windows XP Dial Up Instructions

    1. Click on Start, select the Control Panel and then double click on the icon for "Network and Internet Connections".
    2. Under "Network Tasks" on the left hand side, select "Create New Connection", to launch the "New Connection Wizard'.
    3. Click "Next"
    4. Select the option for "Connect to the Internet" and then click "Next"
    5. Select " Create my connection Manually", and then click next.
    6. Choose the option for "Connect using a Dialup modem", then next.
    7. You will be asked to enter the name for your ISP. You can simply name the connection: "Connection to Egyptian Net". Then click next.
    8. Enter the phone number that you are trying to connect to. Please be sure to verify that this phone number is local. To avoid any long distance charges, we suggest contacting your local phone company prior to attempting to connect.
    9. Enter your Username and Password that you have been given. Make sure you DO NOT include the @egyptian.net extension behind the username. Place check marks in the following boxes: " Use this account name and password when anyone connects to the Internet from this computer. " Make this the default Internet Connection.
    10. Ensue to remove the check mark for "Turn on Internet Connection Firewall for this Connection".
    11. Click Finish to end the connection wizard.
    This will place an icon for your new connection in the Network Connection folder within the Control Panel. To create a shortcut for this new dialer, follow the steps below:

    1. Access the Network Connection folder. (Start - Control Panel - Network and Internet Connections).
    2. Locate the new connection that you have just created.
    3. Right click on the icon for the newly created dialer and choose "Create Shortcut". You will be asked if you wish to place the shortcut on the desktop, simply select yes to that message.
